Monica Lewinsky: The Price Of Shame
I don't have much time to write this evening.... but this speech I've listened to multiple times.... because I don't think ANYONE knows what it is like to go through something so humiliating and private, publicly.
Instead of dwelling on it though, I think one of the most important things is to advocate against onine bullying, invasion of privacy, and victim shaming.
The pain it causes is real... To not only the people involved, but those who care about them. I have two beautiful daughters that require my strength. So I've gathered it back together, and I move on. The best thing I can do is try to make changes in this world that might save others from this horrendous experience. When you do this, it's someone's mother/father; son/daughter; friend....
Time to stop this in our culture.
